The first time I visited Warren Dunes State Park, I was about two. That was the day I fell in love with big bodies of water and I haven’t been able to stay away since. We have since visited Warren Dunes several times. This was our second time camping there.
It is a beautiful, densely forested State Park on the shores of Lake Michigan. The trails are beautiful but can be difficult so it’s a good idea to ask before taking off. The dunes are fun to climb. The campground is in the woods away from the lake. You can either drive to the lake or hike there.
One of the best parts of Warren Dunes is the naturalist. His classes are worth attending.
Grand Mere is also a beautiful park but they do not have campsites. There is a picnic pavillion and a paved trail.
